Car Insurance Buick (Car Insurance). rally driving or super car?

rally driving or super car? For my boyfriend's birthday I am thinking of paying for a driving experience for him. However i am unsure of whether to get him a super car voucher or a rally driving one (which has been recommended). Could anyone share any past experiences of these days or men, possibly tell me which you would prefer? Thanks x

Well I haven't had any past experiences but as a bloke I would probably go with the rally voucher as you mentioned, and as i presume that he would be driven by a professional rally driver. but check if its in tarmac or through shrubbery, If it was tarmac rally go with the super car voucher or if it is rough terrain or whatever they say it is go rally.

Buick . How to Repair a Hole in an Oil Pan

Because the oil pan in your vehicle is the lowest hanging part on the engine, it's possible to damage it when going too fast or if you hit an odd-shaped object in the road. When the oil pan gets a crack or a hole in it, you'll have to fix it; otherwise, the engine won't hold oil, and if you run the engine, you could damage it beyond repair. This is not an easy project and does require some serious fabrication to do correctly.
Difficulty:Moderate
Instructions Things You'll Need
Jack
Jack stands
Drain pan
3/8-inch ratchet, extension and socket set
Shop rags
Automotive degreaser
12 inch wide, 2 foot long 1/8-inch steel plate
Tape measure
Permanent marker
Reciprocating saw
Body hammer
MIG welder
Wire brush
Spray paint
Replacement oil

Step by Step :
1
Lift up the front of the vehicle using the jack and secure it on jack stands. Make sure the vehicle is completely secure on the jack stands before you crawl underneath it. Place the drain pan underneath the oil pan and open the drain plug using the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Allow any oil that's left in the pan to drain out.
2
Unbolt the oil pan from the engine using the 3/8-inch ratchet, extension and sockets, then pull it off of the engine. Use the shop rags and automotive degreaser to clean out the oil pan so that there is no oil or grease left in the pan. Make sure it's 100 percent clean all the way around before you proceed further.
3
Use the hammer to pound the metal flat and then assess the damage to the oil pan. If there is a minimal gap and the hole in the pan is more of a gash that you feel confident in welding, then skip to Step 5.
4
Measure the hole in the pan and transfer that measurement to the steel plate using the permanent marker. Cut out the steel using a reciprocating saw and place it on the oil pan to make sure that the hole is completely covered. Trace the perimeter of the steel patch on the oil pan using the permanent marker.
5
Scrub the hole in the pan, inside and out, using the wire brush until you see bare metal on the surface and around the area where the patch will be. Use the MIG welder to weld the patch to the pan, welding around the perimeter of the patch or down the crack. Weld it inside and out of the pan, and make sure that you have a continuous pattern around or on the seam to ensure it's waterproof. To test that, pour the water in the oil pan and allow it to sit for a few hours. If the water leaks out, weld up the hole where it's coming from.
6
Reinstall the oil pan on the engine using the 3/8-inch ratchet, extension and sockets, then fill the engine with the replacement oil to manufacturer's specifications.

Buick . How to Tell If You Have Cracked the Oil Pan Under Your Car

The oil pan of your engine is typically the lowest point on a vehicle, and as such, it can take a lot of abuse. Big dips in the road and going too fast over speed bumps can cause the pan to crack upon impact, allowing oil to leak out and, if left unchecked, potentially empty the engine of oil and cause major damage. But before you go out and fix the pan, you first have to determine if it's the pan or just the gasket surrounding it.
Difficulty:Moderately Easy
Instructions Things You'll Need
Jack
Jack stands
Automotive degreaser
Shop towels
Flashlight
2-foot by 2-foot cardboard square
Plumb bob

Step by Step :
1
Lift up the front of the vehicle using the jack and secure it on jack stands. Be sure the vehicle is completely secure on the jack stands before you crawl underneath it.
2
Spray the automotive degreaser on the oil pan and the bottom half of the engine, then clean it all off with a few shop rags. Be sure the underside of the engine is completely clean, and that there is no oil or grease anywhere to be seen.
3
Use the flashlight to search the bottom of the oil pan for any obvious impact marks, such as dents or scraped-off paint. Look and see if you can notice any obvious cracks. Stay underneath the vehicle for at least 10 minutes, and see if you can see any oil actively dripping from the pan.
4
Raise the vehicle off of the jack stands using the jack and place it back on the ground. Slide the 2-foot by 2-foot cardboard square underneath the oil pan and allow the vehicle to sit for at least a day.
5
Look underneath the car with the flashlight and look at the cardboard. If there's oil on the cardboard, hold the plumb bob underneath the oil pan so that the point on the bob points at the oil spot on the cardboard. Wherever your hand is will be the source of the leak.

engages the front driveshaft along with the rear driveshaft so that all four wheels get power from the engine. In two-wheel drive, only the driveshaft connected to the rear wheels gets power from the engine, and the front wheels are disengaged. In four-wheel drive, the engine powers all the wheels. Four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicles are different from all-wheel-drive (AWD) vehicles in that AWD vehicles send power to all four wheels all the time. AWD vehicles usually employ a center differential to split power from the engine to the front and rear wheels. Well, you've survived the ride on the drive train. on to learn macram6 or fly-tying, take the time to educate yourself about an automotive system that most people take for granted, even though it may be the only system in your car that can kill you if you don't keep it in good repair. As you've probably guessed — especially if you read chapter titles — I'm talking about your brakes. Brake System Basics One reason that today's vehicles are the safest in history is that they're equipped with hydraulic brake systems designed to operate on very simple principles with a minimum of parts and maintenance. Since 1968, all vehicles are also equipped with dual brake systems to ensure that if one set of brakes fails, the other set will still be able to stop your car; and with a dashboard light to warn you if your front or rear brakes fail. Figure 10-1 shows a basic brake system with a power booster, disc brakes on the front wheels, and drum brakes on the rear wheels. Your vehicle may not have power brakes or may have disc or drum brakes all around, but the principle is the same in any case. The following sections take a look at each of the components of a brake system, starting with the first point of contact between you and your brakes and working down the line to the brakes themselves. 180 Part II: What Makes It Go?.

When you step on the brake pedal, small pistons in the master cylinder force brake fluid out of the master cylinder and into the brake lines. If your brakes are working properly, the pedal should stop a couple of inches from the floor. It should push down easily, stop firmly at its lowest point without feeling spongy, and stay put instead of sinking down slowly when you put normal pressure on it.
